Dana, founder of Miracle Wash

Miracle Wash started in 2004 with a simple problem Dana couldn't solve at the supermarket.

Dana is a WA-born mother of four. Three of her children suffer from eczema and allergies, and she'd made the decision to eliminate harsh chemicals from the house. The problem was that genuinely chemical-free laundry products were either expensive to use regularly - especially with four kids and up to 13 loads of washing a week - or they simply didn't clean well enough. The cheap eco options were compromises. The effective ones were out of reach.

She wanted one product that was environmentally safe, free from harsh chemicals, actually worked, and didn't cost a fortune to use. Nobody seemed to make it.

So she spent six months looking.

She found a laundry ball product imported from the UK, tried it, and was sold immediately. But the formula contained Sodium Lauryl Sulphate - a known skin irritant and the last thing she wanted on her children's skin. She tracked down the manufacturer, hired a chemist, and reformulated the pellets to remove it. The result was the Miracle Wash Laundry Ball - SLS free, fully biodegradable, and effective enough that Dana has never gone back to detergent.

That was over twenty years ago.

Miracle Wash is owned and operated by EnviroCare Holdings Pty Ltd, an Australian company. The balls are manufactured overseas under Dana's guidance and imported into Australia, where the business supports local small businesses and employs local community members. Products are available nationally.

The formula hasn't changed. Neither has the reason it exists.
